DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, Ms. Sarah Rizvi, IPS, recently conducted a comprehensive security review of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra route, specifically from Salora to the Chenani-Nashri Tunnel on the National Highway. She was joined by SSP Udhampur, Sh. Amod Nagpure, IPS, Addl. SP Udhampur, Sh. Sandeep Bhat, and other senior police officials from the district.
The primary objective of the visit was to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage for Yatris. DIG Rizvi meticulously inspected security deployments at various critical points, including langar sites, lodgment centers, Road Opening Parties (ROPs), and other key locations. She placed particular emphasis on effective coordination and thorough personnel briefing, acknowledging the challenges posed by the demanding terrain.
During her review, Ms. Rizvi underscored the vital importance of inter-agency coordination among the Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Army, intelligence units, and civil administration. She also assessed the traffic management strategies along the Yatra route in collaboration with the district police officers.
