Doda Police Seize Narcotics, Arrest Drug Peddlers in Gandoh

In a statement, the J&K Police District Doda reported that a police patrol team from Gandoh Police Station was conducting routine vehicle checks in the Tipri area of Kahaljugassar Gandoh. During the operation, officers observed two individuals on a motorcycle (JK06-7847) approaching from Kahaljugassar towards Gowari. The officers signaled for the motorcycle to stop, but the riders attempted to flee.

Acting swiftly, the police party apprehended both suspects. Upon questioning, they identified themselves as Mushtaq Ahmed (son of Ali Mohd) from Soti Gandoh and Nissar Ahmed (son of Manwar Din Mir) from Soti Tehsil Gandoh. A search of their belongings revealed a substance suspected to be cannabis (Charas).

Consequently, the Gandoh Police Station registered a First Information Report (FIR No. 60/2024) under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. An investigation into the case is underway.
