A police party of Police station Kulgam during patrolling at village Kaharwath intercepted a vehicle (Tata mobile) bearing registration number JK18D-4327 for checking. In the meantime, two persons came out of the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot. However, they were chased and apprehended tactfully. After search *250 grams of Poppy Straw like contraband substance* filled in a bag was recovered from their possession. On preliminary questioning they disclosed their identity as *Mashooq Ahmad Hella S/O Abdul Rashid R/O Batpora kulgam* and *Shabir Ahmad Mir S/O Ghulam Hassan Mir R/O Okey kulgam*. The vehicle used in commission of crime was seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR number. 177/2024 under section 8/15, 29 NDPS 132,121 BNS has been registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been taken up.
