“Anantnag Police have arrested two individuals involved in drug trafficking and seized substantial quantities of illegal substances in separate operations.
In the first incident, acting on intelligence, officers from Police Station Aishmuqam set up a checkpoint at Bashnaar. They apprehended Muzaffer Ahmed Shah, son of Latief Shah from Hardkichloo Aishmuqam, and recovered approximately 10.27 kg of Charas powder. A case, FIR No. 11/2025, has been registered under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act, and an investigation is ongoing.
In a separate operation, Police Post Khanabal officers arrested Khayam Ahmad Bhat, son of Ab Gani from Batangoo, at Shohal Batangoo. They seized 7 kg of Poppy Straw. A case has been registered under the relevant NDPS Act sections, and an investigation is in progress.
