An 85-year-old woman in southern Kerala died Tuesday night after her son, allegedly intoxicated, brutally assaulted her. Police identified the victim as Omana, a resident of Thekkada near Nedumangad.
Authorities say her son, Manikandan, stomped on her, causing severe injuries and multiple fractures. Omana was rushed to the Government Medical College Hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Manikandan is now in police custody at the Vattappara station.
