Electric Bus Launch in Jammu Delayed by Slow Progress on Charging Stations and Other Infrastructure

The launch of 100 electric buses in Jammu has been delayed due to slow progress in setting up charging stations and a bus depot by Tata Motors.

According to Tata Motors, the charging infrastructure in both Srinagar and Jammu is now ready to operate. However, official sources say that the infrastructure in Jammu is not yet ready to start seamless operations.

Tata Motors has supplied the first batch of Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses to Srinagar Smart City Ltd. The company is responsible for supply, operation and maintenance of 100 electric buses each in Srinagar and Jammu for a period of 12 years.
