In a national address on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that the Indian Armed Forces displayed immense courage in achieving the objectives of Operation Sindoor, emphasizing that the forces have been granted complete freedom to eliminate terrorists.
Referring to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22nd, PM Modi stated that the “barbarism that terrorists have shown has shaken the country and the world.” He recounted the killing of innocent individuals celebrating their holidays in front of their families after being questioned about their religion.
In response to this attack, which tragically claimed the lives of twenty-six people, India launched Operation Sindoor, conducting precision strikes on terror infrastructure within Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to the Prime Minister, these strikes resulted in the neutralization of over 100 terrorists. He also noted that the subsequent aggression from Pakistan was effectively countered by the Indian Armed Forces, who also targeted Pakistani airbases.
PM Modi declared that “every terror organisation now knows ‘ki hamari behano, betiyon ke maathe se Sindoor hatane ka anjaam kya hota hai'” (the consequence of wiping the Sindoor from the foreheads of our sisters and daughters). He saluted the armed forces, the military, the intelligence agencies, and the scientists for their capabilities and patience demonstrated in recent days. He dedicated the “valour, bravery, courage” of the armed forces to every mother, sister, and daughter of the nation.
Following the Pahalgam attack, the Prime Minister had previously vowed that the perpetrators would face unimaginable punishment. Furthermore, India has reportedly taken measures to convey a strong message to Pakistan regarding its support for cross-border terrorism, including placing the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance.
