LG Sinha Pays Tribute to Martyred BSF Officer

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Minister Satish Sharma participated in a solemn wreath-laying ceremony on Monday to honor Border Security Force (BSF) Constable Deepak Chingakham, who lost his life due to cross-border firing by Pakistani troops.

The ceremony, held at the BSF headquarters in Jammu, was also attended by BSF Inspector General (Jammu Frontier) Shashank Anand, along with other senior BSF, police, and civil officers, all paying their respects to the fallen constable.

Constable Deepak Chingakham sustained fatal injuries during cross-border firing along the international border in the R S Pura area of Jammu district on May 10 and tragically attained martyrdom on May 11.

Following the wreath-laying, where the Lieutenant Governor laid a wreath and stated, “I salute the brave son of Mother India, BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. We share the grief of the family and stand in solidarity,” the tricolour-wrapped coffin carrying his mortal remains was dispatched to his hometown for his final rites.
