A dumper fell into a gorge in the Dudu area of Udhampur district on Thursday, killing three people and injuring one. The injured person is still trapped under the vehicle, and rescue operations are underway by the police and locals.
The dumper was on its way to Dudu from Udhampur when it skidded off the road and fell into the gorge. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
The deceased have been identified as Ram Singh, 40, Baldev Singh, 35, and Raju, 25. The injured person has been identified as Suresh Kumar, 30.
The police and locals have been carrying out rescue operations since the accident. They have so far managed to retrieve the bodies of the three deceased persons. The injured person is still trapped under the vehicle, and the rescue operations are ongoing.
The SSP of Udhampur, Dr Vinod Kumar, has said that the rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing. He has also assured that the injured person will be rescued soon.
