Govt to re-open cases, return properties of terror-hit families in J&K: LG Sinha

Baramulla, July 13, 2025 – Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today announced a comprehensive initiative to support families affected by terrorism, including investigations into unregistered cases, job provisions, financial aid, and the return of confiscated properties. The announcement came during an event in Baramulla where 40 individuals received appointment letters for government jobs.

LG Sinha highlighted the administration’s commitment to these families, stating that after discussions with senior officials, a decision was made to provide government jobs to eligible members. “Those who have not received financial support will now be provided assistance. We will also facilitate self-employment opportunities,” he said.

Sinha shared a poignant account of his recent meeting with terror-affected families in Anantnag, noting their emotional distress and the injustice many faced despite being eligible for government jobs. He stressed that providing these jobs is a matter of their rightful entitlement.
