In a successful operation, the Hamirpur Police apprehended Saherajuddin, a proclaimed offender, from Gulshannagar in Jammu on Friday.
Saherajuddin, hailing from Gundakhara village in Doda district, was evading arrest in a theft case registered against him under section 380 of the Indian Penal Code at the Sadar Hamirpur Police Station in January 2016. Following his repeated absence from court proceedings, he was declared a proclaimed offender on November 23, 2023, by a local court.
Sharing details about the operation, Hamirpur SP Akriti Sharma lauded the team’s effort in nabbing the absconder.
