ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 Mission One Step Closer to Moon Landing

India’s Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has been injected into the translunar orbit, which means it is now on its way to the Moon.

The spacecraft was launched on July 14 and has been progressively increasing its orbit around Earth. On Tuesday, it underwent a trans-lunar injection (TLI) maneuver, which placed it on a trajectory that will take it to the Moon.

The TLI maneuver was a success, and the spacecraft is now following a path that will take it to the vicinity of the Moon. The next major milestone for the mission is the Lunar-Orbit Insertion (LOI), which is scheduled for August 5.

If the LOI is successful, the spacecraft will enter lunar orbit and the lander will be separated from the propulsion module. The lander will then attempt a soft landing on the lunar surface on August 23.

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is India’s third lunar mission, and its goal is to explore the lunar south pole region. The spacecraft is carrying a number of scientific instruments that will help scientists to better understand the Moon’s geology, mineralogy, and history.

The success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission would be a major achievement for India and would help to further its space exploration program.
