Following recent unprovoked cross-border shelling, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar today undertook an extensive visit to Sub Division Mendhar to evaluate the situation in the affected areas and ensure prompt assistance to the impacted families.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal and other senior district administration officials, the Divisional Commissioner surveyed several affected sites and engaged directly with residents to grasp their concerns and the magnitude of their losses.
He also visited the home of the family who tragically lost a woman due to the shelling. The Divisional Commissioner conveyed his deepest condolences to the grieving family and pledged the full support of the administration. He extended heartfelt sympathies to all those who have suffered from the cross-border shelling.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the district administration to conduct a thorough and timely assessment of the losses to life, property, and livestock. He stressed the urgency of immediate relief and compensation measures to ease the hardship of those affected.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to stand alongside the people during this difficult time, he urged the on-ground officials to continue their work with empathy and speed to restore normalcy.
