Jammu and Kashmir is expecting severe heatwave conditions for the next three days, according to the Meteorological Department.
The region will experience generally hot and dry weather until June 13, with scattered areas facing intense heatwave conditions during this period.
A slight respite is possible from June 14-17, with chances of brief spells of light rain and thundershowers, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds, in isolated to scattered areas. However, the heat is set to return from June 18-20, with hot and dry weather expected again.
In light of these forecasts, the MeT department has advised the public to:
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids and water.
- Limit outdoor activities during the peak heat hours, specifically from 12 noon to 4 pm.
Farmers are advised to continue with their farm operations as usual.
