As of Sunday, June 1, 2025, Jammu and Kashmir is managing a low caseload of COVID-19, with a total of seven active cases across the region. Officials have confirmed no new infections in the Kashmir division for the past two days, indicating a stable situation there.
In the Kashmir division, four active cases are currently reported. These include a Srinagar resident and an elderly man from Bandipora, both of whom tested positive two days ago and are currently in home isolation. Additionally, two dental college students from Kerala had previously tested positive and remain active cases.
The remaining three active cases are located in the Jammu division. These include a student from Reasi, an individual from the Babliana area of Jammu, and one case from Kathua district.
Health officials emphasize that while there is no need for panic, continued vigilance and adherence to COVID-appropriate behaviors are crucial. Surveillance efforts are ongoing to monitor the situation.
Nationwide, India currently has 3,395 active COVID-19 cases. Kerala accounts for the highest number with 1,336 active cases, followed by Maharashtra and Delhi. Tragically, four COVID-19 related deaths were reported across the country in the last 24 hours.
