Karnah, June 21, 2025 – A tragic accident occurred this Saturday afternoon in the Dana area of Karnah, a border town, when a vehicle carrying four individuals rolled down into a deep gorge. One person was killed and three others were injured in the incident.
Dr. Arif Khawaja, In-charge Block Medical Officer Karnah, confirmed the fatality and injuries to Greater Kashmir. According to Dr. Khawaja, the vehicle was en route to Kupwara when it veered off the road and plunged into the gorge near Sadhna Top, Dana.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq Khan, a pharmacist. Two of the three injured are in critical condition and are being evacuated to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara. They are Mohammad Ashraf Mallah, Block Accounts Manager Tanghdar, and Parveena Begum, wife of the deceased Mohammad Rafiq Khan. Shahid Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Rafiq Khan, also sustained injuries.
