J&K administration’s warning to employees against demonstrations: Mehbooba Mufti calls it outrageous and dictatorial

The Jammu and Kashmir administration’s order warning employees of disciplinary action for protesting has been met with condemnation from PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. Mufti described the order as “outrageous” and said it “reeks of a dictatorial mindset.”

The administration had issued the order on Friday, citing the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971, which prohibit employees from going on strike.

Mufti said that suppressing dissent in a democracy is unacceptable and that threatening employees with dire consequences is outrageous.
