The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a forecast for heavy rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir from July 16 to 23, warning of potential flash floods, landslides, and shooting stones in susceptible areas.
The forecast indicates that from July 18 to 20, Jammu and Kashmir is expected to experience intermittent spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers in many locations, with intense showers in some areas and isolated instances of heavy to very heavy rain. During the same period (July 18-20), there will be spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers at scattered to fairly widespread places.
From July 21 to 23, the weather is predicted to be generally cloudy with intermittent spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers in many places, accompanied by intense showers in a few areas and isolated occurrences of heavy to very heavy rain.
An advisory from the Meteorological Centre Srinagar cautions that intense showers in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir between July 16-17 and July 21-23 could trigger flash floods, landslides/mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable locations.
