Kulgam Police have seized six tractors and arrested six individuals in their continued effort to combat illegal mining.
Police successfully intercepted and seized four tractors during a checkpoint at Batpora, led by the IC PP Frisal. The drivers were arrested on the spot for their involvement in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals. In a separate operation, a police team from DH Pora Police Station seized two additional tractors and arrested two drivers at the HM Gori crossing during a routine check.
Cases have been registered under FIR No. 36/2025 at PS Yaripora and FIR No. 37/2025 at PS DH Pora, and investigations are ongoing.
