A 40-year-old man named Gori Shanker was accidentally shot and injured by his own licensed gun in his home in Sitti-Bani village, Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. The incident occurred on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. Shanker sustained an injury to his chest and was initially taken to a local hospital but was later referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Jammu for specialized treatment. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
