Kulgam police have arrested three individuals for illegally selling kerosene on the black market. The operation, conducted in the Arreh and Shalipora areas of Kulgam, followed specific intelligence regarding the illicit trade.
A police team, led by the Station House Officer of Kulgam Police Station and accompanied by an Executive Magistrate, conducted searches in the targeted villages. During the operation, they recovered 500 liters of illicit kerosene from Tariq Ahmad Dar of Shalipora and 300 liters from Ishfaq Ahmad Wani of Arreh, and Mohd Lateef Khan resident of Sungai Danmar, Srinagar. All three individuals were arrested at the scene.
Cases have been registered under FIR numbers 12/2025 and 21/2025 at Kulgam Police Station, and investigations are ongoing. Preliminary investigations suggest the accused were engaged in the illegal sale of kerosene.
