Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today officially began the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra by flagging off the first group of pilgrims from the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp. He extended his best wishes for a safe and fulfilling journey to all devotees.
The Lieutenant Governor described the pilgrimage as “a journey of faith and self-discovery,” hoping all “spiritual seekers” have a comfortable trip to Lord Shiva’s “holy abode” and a “deep soul-stirring experience.”
Speaking to the media, Lieutenant Governor Sinha highlighted the extensive preparations made by the administration, the people of Jammu & Kashmir, the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, J&K Police, and security forces to ensure a smooth pilgrimage.
He noted the high spirits of the pilgrims, with over 4,500 devotees departing in the initial batch. The Lieutenant Governor stated that “Jammu city has come alive with a new vibrancy” and praised the immense faith of the devotees, who are arriving in large numbers undeterred by recent terror incidents. He expressed hope that this year’s Yatra would be even more historic than previous ones.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by a large gathering, including eminent spiritual leaders, heads of religious organizations, public representatives, senior officers from civil administration, Police, security forces, and the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, as well as prominent citizens and devotees.
