Three inter-state burglars were arrested by Railway Police in Jammu on October 3, 2023, for stealing gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1.70 lakh from a passenger train. The arrests were made after a woman passenger filed a complaint on October 10, 2022, alleging that her jewelry had been stolen.
The police formed a SIT to investigate the case. The SIT conducted raids in Haryana and arrested the three accused, who confessed to their crime. The stolen ornaments were recovered.
In the last three months, Railway Police in Jammu have recovered more than 200 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs 14.5 lakh.
