Following India’s Operation Sindoor, which successfully neutralized nine terror sites deep within Pakistan, the Pakistani military responded with panic. On the night of May 7th, Pakistan launched attempts to strike numerous military installations in Northern and Western India. These targets included Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj.
All Pakistani attempts were successfully neutralized by India’s Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems. Debris recovered from various locations now serves as evidence of the Pakistani attacks.
Multiple domain experts informed ANI that Indian Air Force S-400 Sudarshan Chakra air defence missile systems were deployed and successfully intercepted targets moving towards India during the night. Official government confirmation is pending.
This morning, the Indian Armed Forces retaliated by targeting Air Defence Radars and systems at several locations within Pakistan, mirroring the domain and intensity of Pakistan’s aggression. Reliable sources indicate that an Air Defence system in Lahore has been neutralized.
India’s response involved the use of Harpy drones, specifically designed to attack radar systems and optimized for Suppression of Enemy Air Defences (SEAD). These drones successfully neutralized the Air Defence system in Lahore.
The Harpy drone is equipped with an Anti-Radiation (AR) seeker, enabling it to autonomously detect and strike emitting, high-value targets. It can operate in deep strike missions for up to 9 hours, day and night, in all weather conditions, even in GNSS-denied or contested environments. The Harpy can autonomously hunt for targets within a designated area, locate and identify their frequency, and execute strikes from any direction and at various dive angles.
Earlier reports indicated that over 100 terrorists were eliminated in a series of precision strikes launched in the early hours of Wednesday. This operation, codenamed Operation Sindoor, was in response to the Pahalgam terror attack and targeted nine key terror camps in Pakistan linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Hizbul Mujahideen. Four of these camps were located inside Pakistan (in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, and Mehmoona Joya), and the remaining five were situated in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) (Markaz Ahle Hadith Barnala in Bhimber, Markaz Abbas and Maskar Raheel Shahid in Kotli, Shawai Nallah Camp, and Markaz Syedna Bilal in Muzaffarabad). The ongoing nature of the operation makes it difficult to provide an exact count of terrorist casualties at this time.
In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has intensified its unprovoked firing across the Line of Control (LoC) using mortars and heavy calibre artillery in areas including Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri sectors in Jammu and Kashmir. This indiscriminate firing has tragically resulted in the loss of sixteen innocent lives, including three women and five children. India was compelled to respond in order to halt the mortar and artillery fire from Pakistan. The Indian Armed Forces have reiterated their commitment to non-escalation, provided that this commitment is reciprocated by the Pakistani military.
