Due to the escalating situation along the Indo-Pak border, authorities have announced the closure of educational institutions in several districts of Jammu and Kashmir as a precautionary measure for May 9 and 10.
According to an official statement from the Director of School Education Kashmir, all government and private schools in Baramulla, Kupwara, Gurez Sub-Division, and areas in the vicinity of Srinagar and Awantipora Airports will remain closed for these two days. This decision aims to ensure public safety amidst the prevailing uncertainty.
Separately, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu, via a public post on X, has declared the closure of all schools, colleges, and other educational institutions—both government and private—in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch districts for May 9.
Officials have appealed to the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with the administration during this period of heightened tension.
