Anantnag Police have escalated their fight against drug trafficking, attaching properties worth approximately ₹40 lakhs belonging to individuals implicated in narcotics cases. These stringent actions fall under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, aiming to disrupt the financial gains from illicit drug activities.
In one instance, a residential property owned by Mohd Afzal Bhat of Moomin Danji, Bijbehara, was formally attached. This action is linked to FIR No. 175/2022 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Bijbehara.
Additionally, authorities seized a Hyundai Creta vehicle (JK02CX-6665) belonging to Sabzar Ahmad Das of Wagihama Bijbehara. This seizure is connected to FIR No. 102/2025, registered at the same police station under Sections 8/20, 29, and 27-A of the NDPS Act.
The combined market value of the attached house and seized vehicle is estimated at ₹40 lakhs.
