Lieutenant General Prashant Shrivastava, the General Officer Commanding of the Army’s Chinar Corps, conducted a comprehensive review of the security and operational readiness of troops in the Kashmir Valley on Wednesday.
The Srinagar-based Chinar Corps announced on its official X handle that the Corps Commander assessed the security apparatus and operational preparedness across North and South Kashmir. He emphasized the critical need for continuous vigilance among the troops.
Lieutenant General Shrivastava lauded the soldiers for their dedication, highlighting that vigilance, agility, and readiness are paramount to their mission. He also reaffirmed the Chinar Corps’ unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and harmony in Kashmir, vowing to overcome all challenges.
This security review comes just two weeks before the annual Amarnath Yatra is set to commence. The pilgrimage to the sacred cave shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas will run from July 3 to August 9.
