A horrific accident in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur claimed the lives of four young men on Saturday afternoon. Their car collided head-on with a truck on the bustling Jammu-Jalandhar National State Highway, leading to a fiery inferno and tragic loss.
The impact of the collision triggered a devastating series of events. The car, fueled by CNG, ignited in flames, while the truck toppled over, leaving wreckage strewn across the highway. Police and passersby rushed to the scene, pulling the sole survivor from the burning car and transporting him to Dasuha government hospital.
However, the extent of his injuries necessitated immediate transfer to Amritsar Medical College. Sadly, for the four others trapped in the wreckage, help came too late. They were pronounced dead at the scene, leaving behind families grappling with unimaginable grief.
Initial reports suggest both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when the collision occurred. The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the police.
Speaking to authorities, a local resident who witnessed the crash described the scene as shocking and chaotic. He immediately alerted the police, leading to their swift arrival on the scene.
Doctors at Dasuha hospital confirmed the critical condition of the truck driver, necessitating his referral to the larger and better-equipped facility in Amritsar.
