In a significant operation, the Punjab Police announced on Saturday the successful dismantling of two major ISI-backed Khalistani terror modules orchestrated from overseas. The authorities apprehended 13 individuals and seized a substantial cache of weapons, including two rocket-propelled grenades, two hand grenades, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and RDX, along with other ammunition.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav revealed that the first terror module was being directed by Satnam Singh, also known as Satta, who is based in France. The second module was operated by Jaswinder, alias Mannu Agwan, residing in Greece.
DGP Yadav stated that these networks, supported by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), were affiliated with the banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and were being managed from foreign locations.
“This is a major blow to transnational terror networks targeting peace and stability in Punjab,” Yadav emphasized in a post on X.
Providing further details, the DGP outlined the seized weaponry, which included two rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) along with a launcher, two IEDs each weighing 2.5 kg, two hand grenades with detonators, two kg of RDX with a remote control, five pistols (Beretta and Glock), six magazines, 44 live cartridges, one wireless set, and three vehicles.
The individuals arrested in connection with the first module, allegedly operated by Satta, were identified as Jatinder alias Honey and Jagjit alias Jagga, both residents of Kapurthala, and Harpreet and Jagroop, both from Hoshiarpur, according to the DGP. He added that a case has been registered in Amritsar under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act.
Regarding the second terror module, Yadav reported the arrest of nine operatives. A separate case has been registered in Batala under the UAPA and the Explosives Act.
