The Meteorological Department forecasts isolated to scattered rain across Jammu and Kashmir over the next few days.
Short spells of rain and thundershowers, possibly with gusty winds, are expected in isolated to scattered areas until June 20.
A more significant weather system is predicted between June 21 and 23. During this time, anticipate generally cloudy skies with intermittent rain and thundershowers in many parts of the Union Territory.
Recent Rainfall and Temperature Trends
Over the past 24 hours, the Jammu region experienced fairly widespread light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds. Jammu city specifically recorded 46.0 mm of rainfall.
Daytime temperatures continue to be above normal across Jammu and Kashmir. Most of the Kashmir Valley saw temperatures 2-3°C above average, while the Jammu region was 1-3°C above the seasonal norm.
Night temperatures have also been unseasonably high. Most areas in Kashmir recorded minimum temperatures 1-6°C above average, and many parts of Jammu reported minimums 1-5°C above normal.
The lowest minimum temperatures were 11.6°C in Gulmarg (Kashmir) and 15.6°C in Banihal (Jammu).
