Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed confidence on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will return for a third term with a clear majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the faith of the entire country behind him. It is not just me but several political observers who have also accepted that he is coming back with a clear majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” Singh told reporters in Lucknow, where he is on a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency.
He was responding to a question on the challenge posed by the opposition bloc INDIA in the upcoming elections.
On the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, Singh paid his respects to Maharishi Valmiki and said, “The entire world knows, and I believe, that Maharishi Valmiki’s Ram was not just a king but a lok nayak (people’s leader), yug purush (man of the era), and an incarnation.”
“All Bharatvasis (Indians), be it in any part of the world, view Ram as Maryada Purushottam (ideal man) as has been carved by Maharishi Valmiki in the Ramayana,” he said.
Singh also extended greetings to the people on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti.
