Defence Minister Rajnath Singh criticized the opposition for their silence on DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments on Sanatan Dharma. He asked why Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Ashok Gehlot have not spoken out against Stalin’s remarks.
Singh also took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi, saying that Chandrayaan successfully landed on the moon, but “Rahulyaan” (a play on Rahul Gandhi’s name) could not be launched or landed.
Singh said that the INDIA bloc members should apologize for insulting Sanatan Dharma, or the country would not forgive them.
Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, had alleged that Sanatan Dharma is against equality and social justice, and that it should be eradicated. He also likened Sanatan Dharma to coronavirus, malaria, and dengue fever, and said that such things should not be opposed but destroyed.
Singh’s comments came a day after Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks sparked a controversy. Several Hindu religious leaders and organizations have condemned Stalin’s remarks, and some have even demanded his arrest.
