Jammu and Kashmir has appointed Ram Niwas Sharma, an IAS officer from the 2010 AGMUT batch, as the new Secretary of the School Education Department. This posting follows his transfer to the Union Territory. He will take over from Shantmanu, an IAS officer from the 1991 AGMUT batch, who currently holds the additional charge of the post while serving as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) for the Higher Education Department. The order was issued by the General Administration Department (GAD).
