On May 6, 2018, FIR No. 97/2018, under sections 302/34 of the RPC, was filed at Reasi Police Station against Parvaz Ahmed (son of Mohd Amin), Mohd Rafiq (son of Goggar), and Mohd Haleem (son of Kalu), all residents of Jyotipuram, Reasi.
Parvaz Ahmed and Mohd Rafiq were arrested in 2018 and remain in custody. The third accused, Mohd Haleem, had been absconding.
Given the seriousness of the case, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi directed the Station House Officer (SHO) of Reasi Police Station and the In-charge of the Jyotipuram Police Post to form a team to apprehend the remaining suspect. Following intensive efforts, including technical assistance from the District Police Office (DPO) Reasi, the team successfully apprehended Mohd Haleem (son of Kalu), a resident of Bidda, Jyotipuram. He has been formally charged in connection with the case.
