VK Birdi, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Kashmir, announced on Monday that all necessary security and logistical preparations are complete for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the Valley.
Speaking to reporters after a rehearsal parade at Partap Park in Srinagar, IGP Birdi stated that the preparations include rehearsal drills. He added that there will be multiple layers of security on August 15, with specific arrangements at sensitive locations to ensure a peaceful event.
The IGP emphasized that every effort is being made to guarantee smooth and incident-free celebrations.
