In the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, an army soldier named Sepoy Suresh Biswal died from an accidental discharge of his service rifle. The incident occurred on Monday at the Sarna camp in Bhaderwah, where Sepoy Biswal was on guard duty.
According to officials, colleagues heard a gunshot from his post and found him with a fatal injury. He was immediately taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Superintendent of Police Vinod Sharma stated that initial investigations suggest Sepoy Biswal, who was from Odisha, was unloading his rifle’s chamber when it accidentally went off. An inquiry is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of his death.
