During a routine check at Tarzoo Panjipora near the orchards, Sopore Police arrested two drug peddlers, Fayaz Ahmad Shalla and Adil Ahmad Buda, who attempted to flee. Police successfully apprehended them and recovered a poppy straw-like substance from their vehicle (JK05D-8607).
An FIR (No. 83/2025) has been registered under Sections 8/15 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Tarzoo, and an investigation is underway to identify the source of the drugs and dismantle the wider network.
