The Srinagar-Jammu national highway reopened for traffic on Wednesday at 9 am after remaining closed for two days due to rains and landslides.
The highway was closed on Monday following a landslide in the Shalgiri area of Banihal. Hundreds of vehicles were left stranded due to the road block.
After clearing the debris of the landslide, the traffic authorities allowed vehicles to move from both sides of the highway.
The Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road is also open for vehicular movement. However, the Mughal road that connects Shopian in south Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch districts is still closed due to snow accumulation.
