Former Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Range) Vijay Kumar took over as the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) on Wednesday.
Kumar, a 1997-batch Indian Police Service officer, has been credited with bringing “massive transformation” to the security situation in Kashmir. He has served as the Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Range) since December 2019.
