- Price Hike: Effective April 8th, the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has increased by Rs 50 for all consumers, including those under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).

- PMUY beneficiaries will now pay Rs 550 per cylinder (previously Rs 500).
- Other consumers will pay Rs 853 per cylinder (previously Rs 803).
- Periodic Review: These prices are subject to adjustments during the regular price reviews, which occur roughly every two to three weeks.
- Commercial LPG: Prior to this, on April 1st, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders was reduced by Rs 41, bringing the price in Delhi to Rs 1,762.
- Market Factors: India imports approximately 60% of its LPG, making domestic prices sensitive to international market fluctuations.
- PMUY Beneficiaries: The number of PMUY beneficiaries has reached 10.33 crore as of March 1st. The total number of active domestic LPG consumers is 32.94 crore.
- International Price vs PMUY: The average international price for LPG increased by 63% from July 2023 to February 2025. In contrast, the effective price for PMUY consumers decreased by 44% between August 2023 and February 2025.
- Previous Domestic LPG price: The price of a 14.2 kg Domestic LPG cylinder had remained at 803 rupees since august of 2024.
