The District Police Anantnag is committed to fighting drug trafficking in the community. In a recent operation, officers stationed at Sangam checkpoint stopped a Santro car (JK03B-1781) and discovered approximately 17 kilograms of poppy straw hidden inside.
Three individuals were apprehended: Sajad Ahmad Dass, Javid Ahmad Mantoo, and Muzaffar Ahmad Sheikh. All three are residents of Bijbehara. The vehicle used for the crime, along with the seized drugs, has been confiscated by the police.
A case has been registered at the Bijbehara Police Station under relevant legal sections. Investigations are ongoing.
