Police Seize 1.2 Kg+ Brown Sugar, Arrest Drug Dealer in Baramulla

In a successful operation against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a drug peddler and seized a significant quantity of narcotics during routine patrols in the Boniyar area.

During the night of April 7-8, 2025, officers at a checkpoint in Bernate Bala, Boniyar, intercepted Manzoor Ahmad Mir (son of Late Hafiz-Ullah Mir, resident of Bernate, Boniyar) as he attempted to escape. A search of Mir revealed 1.216 kg of suspected brown sugar and a digital weighing scale.

The contraband was seized immediately, and a case (FIR No. 25/2025, under section 8/21 of the NDPS Act) was registered at Police Station Boniyar. Mir was taken into custody.

Police are conducting further investigations to identify and apprehend other individuals involved in the drug network and to determine the source of the seized narcotics.

Baramulla Police reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug trafficking and encouraged the public to report any information related to drug-related activities in their communities.
