Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Tuesday that art is flourishing in Kashmir and that new cinema halls will open in three districts of the region in September.
Speaking at the Amrit Yuva Kalotsav in Srinagar, Sinha said that artists from all over the country are coming to Kashmir to showcase their art and learn new skills. He said that earlier, cinema halls had opened in Pulwama, Shopian, Baramulla, and Handwara, and that new halls would open in Bandipora, Ganderbal, and Kulgam in September.
Sinha said that peace is essential for the development and promotion of art. He said that the youth of Kashmir are now enjoying ice cream at the Jehlum river front and listening to music, and that art can soothe the nerves.
The LG said that he is happy to see art flourishing on all fronts in Kashmir. He urged the youth to continue to pursue their artistic talents and to help promote the culture of Kashmir.
