The 250-km Jammu-Srinagar National Highway experienced a traffic suspension starting Sunday night due to a road collapse near Ramban, according to a traffic department official.
The incident occurred around 10 pm at Maroog, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded on both sides of the crucial all-weather route connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country.
The National Highway Authority of India has initiated restoration efforts. Officials advise against traveling on the highway until these repairs are completed. A decision regarding the resumption of traffic from both directions will be made on Monday following clearance from the NHAI.
