LG Sinha Chairs High-Level Meeting to Review Preparations for PM Modi’s Upcoming Katra Visit

On June 4, 2025, a preparatory meeting was held at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar, chaired by Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha. The meeting, attended by senior administrative and police officials, focused on arrangements for the upcoming inauguration of the Chenab Bridge by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on June 6, 2025.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to dedicate the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge at 359 meters, to the nation. This engineering marvel is a key component of the 272-km Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link, a project aimed at providing year-round rail connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and Kanyakumari. The visit will also mark the launch of the Vande Bharat train service connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha reviewed various aspects of the preparations and urged the public to participate enthusiastically in the launch event to make it a memorable occasion.

Attendees at the meeting included Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Nalin Prabhat, DGP J&K; Anand Jain, ADGP Armed; Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner Jammu; Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP Jammu; Vivek Gupta, IGP Railways; M. Suleman Choudhary, IGP Traffic; Deputy Commissioners and SSPs from Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Reasi, and Udhampur, along with other senior civil and police administration officials.
