Jammu is abuzz with activity as hundreds of pilgrims flock to the city for on-the-spot registration for the annual Amarnath Yatra. The 38-day pilgrimage to the 3,880-meter high shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas is set to officially commence on July 3rd.
Pilgrims arriving in Jammu from across the country are undergoing on-the-spot registration after receiving tokens. Sub Divisional Magistrate Manu Hansa confirmed that registration centers have been established at Vaishnavi Dham, Panchayat Bhawan, and Mahajan Sabha, with Saraswati Dham serving as the sole token distribution point. These centers opened at 7 AM.
For sadhus, a dedicated registration camp has been set up at the Purani Mandi-based Ram temple complex, which also serves as their base camp. Officials report that over 300 sadhus have already arrived, with boarding and lodging arrangements in place for them. Many sadhus shared their enthusiasm, with one stating it was his 21st time undertaking the pilgrimage after completing the Char Dham Yatra.
