Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Northern Command, was in the Jammu region on Wednesday to assess the security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in the Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar districts.
Joint operations by the Army, police, and paramilitary forces are actively underway in these districts, targeting terrorists who have been operating in the region for over a month.
The Northern Command Headquarters posted on X that Lieutenant General Sharma “reviewed the security milieu and ongoing counter-terrorist operations in the Doda-Ramban-Kishtwar region by the formation.”
During his visit, the Army Commander, accompanied by General Officer Commanding (GOC) White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, also went to the Delta Force headquarters in Batote. There, they received an update on ‘Operation Shiva,’ which focuses on ensuring the safety and security of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lieutenant General Mishra commended all personnel for their dedication to counter-terrorism and regional security, emphasizing the importance of a proactive approach supported by advanced technology.
