On the 79th Independence Day, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hoisted and saluted the National Flag at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar, extending his warmest greetings and well-wishes to everyone.
The Lieutenant Governor honored the freedom fighters and paid tribute to the brave members of the Police, Army, and CAPFs. He also remembered the citizens who tragically lost their lives in the cloudburst at Chashoti, Kishtwar.
In his address, Lieutenant Governor Sinha urged everyone to pledge that “no individual or village is left out of this historic journey of peace and progress.” He encouraged citizens to “look ahead with pride, confidence and hope towards a better and brighter future for UT of Jammu Kashmir.”
In a post on X, he reiterated these sentiments, also paying homage to the civilian martyrs who were killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists in Pahalgam on April 22. He thanked the armed forces, security and intelligence agencies, and the Jammu Kashmir Police for their bravery in “Operation Sindoor” and “Operation Mahadev,” which were launched to avenge the attack.
He expressed his condolences to the families affected by the Kishtwar cloudburst, stating that relief operations were underway. The Lieutenant Governor also affirmed the duty to eliminate terrorism from the region, emphasizing that the combined efforts of security forces and the community will make Jammu and Kashmir terror-free.
He concluded his message by calling for a unified effort to make Jammu and Kashmir strong, self-reliant, and prosperous for all, with a focus on empowering farmers, youth, women, and the working class. He reiterated the pledge that no one would be left behind in the journey toward peace and progress.
