PM Modi greets everyone on Janmashtami; calls its festival of faith

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu extended their greetings to the nation on the occasion of Janmashtami.

In a post on X, PM Modi called Janmashtami a “sacred festival of faith, joy, and enthusiasm,” wishing it would bring “new energy and zeal” into people’s lives.

President Murmu also conveyed her greetings, stating that the life and teachings of Lord Krishna “inspire us towards self-development and self-realisation” and encourage the adoption of “eternal values.” She urged people to follow his teachings to make society and the nation stronger.

Meanwhile, preparations for the festival are in full swing across the country. Special security and facilities have been arranged for devotees in Dwarka, Gujarat, while in Maharashtra, grand Dahi Handi events are being held. During these events, devotees form human pyramids to break earthen pots, symbolizing Lord Krishna’s love for butter and curd.
