JK Police have made a significant breakthrough in the murder case of a 19-year-old teenager, arresting a suspect and recovering the victim’s body.
On Wednesday, Parhald Singh reported to the Police Control Room that his son, Raghav Jamwal, had been kidnapped. Jamwal had gone to attend computer training classes in Janipur but never returned.
A police team from Chinore Police Post and Domana Police Station immediately began investigating the case. They discovered that Jamwal had not attended his training classes on the day of his disappearance.
Using a combination of human intelligence and technical surveillance, police were able to identify the kidnapper, Satinder Kumar, 23, of Main Bazar Kishtwar. Kumar was arrested from his rented accommodation in Patoli.
Kumar confessed to the crime, admitting that he had struck Jamwal on the head with a stone, killing him. He then hid the body in a forest area near the Raipur Khari-Jagti link road.
The body was recovered and sent to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu for post-mortem. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
The case was solved under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu, Dr Vinod Kumar.
